What a great project to get into. Documenting America's veterans before they are all gone. My dad served in WW2 and some in Korea, and I grew up around the uniform and the medals... but he never talked about it. We heard a few stories about his camp and the pet wallabees and stuff, but nothing about the Okinawa and Phillipines campaigns. He just didn't talk about it.
He's gone now.
We should have asked.
