ASMP: The Accidental Photographer: Barbara Bordnick in Phoenix

© Barbara Bordnick

I have always been a huge Barbara Bordnick fan. I would look for her work first in Black Book and the magazines she worked for. I really love her total look.

And now you all in Phoenix get to spend an evening with her. That is so cool. Get on over and sign up. This may be a well spent evening with a people shooter extraordinaire. And when you get to the meeting, let them know you saw it in my blog. Seriously. Let 'em know.
ASMP: The Accidental Photographer:

"Barbara Bordnick's works are in the permanent collections of the International Center of Photography, the Gilman Paper Collection in New York, the Polaroid Collection in Massachusetts, George Eastman House in Rochester, NY, the Portland Museum of Art in Maine and the Hallmark Museum for Contemporary Photography in Massachusetts. Her book SEARCHINGS, Secret Landscapes of Flowers was published in the spring of 2003 to rave reviews; SEARCHINGS, Volume II was published May 2004 to even greater acclaim and Volume III was published in the fall of 2005. A traveling exhibition of these photographs is currently showing throughout the United States. Ms. Bordnick served three terms as the president of the Advertising Photographers of New York, and was the first woman president of the American Society of Magazine Photographers in 1977-78. On May 24, 2006 she was awarded the International Photographic Council's Leadership Award at the United Nations."
