SURPRISE! Dems Break Promise: Stimulus Bill to Floor Friday - HUMAN EVENTS

So on something so important, so 'country shaking' as this Trillion Dollar bill can't even get a weekend for people, us people, to look at it? Two stinking days to read nearly 800 pages?

Why? What on earth would be the reason to ram this down our throats with less scrutiny than the naming of a National Park, or a bridge in Washington? We can't look at it for a lousy weekend?

We were promised transparency and light. We were promised an 'open process' where, we, the little people could be involved. We were promised legitimacy. We were promised...

"Meet the new boss, same as the old boss..."

Fuckin' Liars. Just lying sacks of shit.
SURPRISE! Dems Break Promise: Stimulus Bill to Floor Friday - HUMAN EVENTS:
"In a press conference Thursday, the House Republican leadership spoke candidly about being kept out of the House-Senate conference on the Obama-Pelosi-Reid so-called “economic stimulus” bill. They confirmed they had not yet seen the text of the bill as of 4 p.m.

Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) said he was unsure how many Democrats would vote with Republicans again on this bill but that he thought Republicans “may get a few” Democrats to side with them. The fact that the Demos have now broken their promise to have the public able to see the bill for 48 hours may drive more Dems into the Republican camp."

800 pages? That's a lot of writing. I mean a _lot_, I just read a 720 page novel and it took about a week. I'm sure if I read it all day, I could have done it in about three days, since I read fast. But it had a lot of content.

Does the stimulus bill really need 800 pages of text? Is it all legalese like a condo contract or something? "The owner of the unit shall be considered the primary resident, inclusive of blah, blah blah blah blah blah blah blah" => "the person who signs this document is the owner."

Better yet, sounds like they didn't even make a digital (pdf) copy available so those voting/media/us could search it for key words...

800 pages... no digital copy... having worked for the feds before, I could have sworn there was a "paperwork reduction act" passed a while back. I'm sure I saw the paperwork for it at some point. ;)
