Comparison of 7MP APP for iPhone camera and the default camera: Side by Side images show some gain / some loss

Here is what I found:

The APP provides an algorithm that interpolates the image up.

In some areas of the shot, the regular camera is a bit softer on edges, as interpolation usually does.
And there are areas where the 7MP APP creates a nice, bit smoother transition.

But I wanted to find a mean point.

So I chose a 6x9 image at 300ppi.
That had to res up the regular camera and res down the 7MP camera image.

Both images received the exact same post processing and final sharpen.

In the end, the 7MP made a better, smoother, sharper print - by just a little bit, than the regular camera does.
