"Hey Photographers! Pinterest is Not for You" - We all seem to be suffering by "bright shiny penny" syndrome... sigh

But for photographers, it simply isn’t a good referral source because it doesn’t lead to sales. So worrying about the rights-grab and whether it’s skirting copyright law is moot.

I was thinking a couple of weeks ago that it may be a good place for some consumer shooters, but I think now that this analysis seems about right. I think Social Media is getting into bubble status - and I think it is best to simply choose a few and be done with it... maximize your visibility... not your SM list.

I wouldn't be that fast to dismiss it. It's too early to tell in terms of actual data what type of influence it has.

But all the photo consultants tell you that you have to sell your vision. That you have to show people who you are. Well, Pinterest is one way of doing this - communicating your visual style with your network.

People do business with people they trust, with people they connect with. If you can build meaningful connection points through Pinterest, then it may in fact help your business.
