USA Great Depression 2008

I am so amazed that we have let a bunch of toady media people talk us into thinking depression. Good lord people... a depression with bottled water, iPods, fancy cellphones and giant screen TV's is really rather a joke isn't it? Ask yourselves why? What is driving this? Here we have - in the same newspaper - the claim that 5% unemployment spells doom and 5.2% unemployment means happy days.

Same fucking newspaper.

Agenda? You think?
Lou Minatti: UK paper declares: USA Great Depression 2008: "Drudge linked to this. After declaring that the US is in an economic depression, the final paragraph reads,
And the next monthly job numbers, to be released this Friday, are likely to show 50,000 more jobs were lost nationwide in March, and the unemployment rate is up to perhaps 5 per cent.
Yet the UK government is crowing about their 5.2% unemployment rate.
Stephen Timms, Minister of State for Employment said:

'Once again this is a strong set of figures. There have never been more people in work in the UK. Our employment rate of 74.8% continues to be above that of most other countries within the EU."

I dont agree, well not completely. We are definately as a country heading down the road of a depression, Not because we are increasingly being delt the card of unemployement, but rather since there is no industry here in the US anymore. We have outsourced everything, and nothing is made here. There are websites, that allow people to buy things from the american people, made here, manufactured here... This is how we need to start pushing to make this economy grow.. We need to either bring back jobs to the US, or tax the companys who have moved over seas so high, that they have to bring the jobs back here... Gm has laid off 19000 people, Ford is on its way there too.. The Gas prices have not helped either, but mostly this is stemming from the greed of the rich getting richer, they have at this point moved minimum raise to a higher point, to accomodate the people who are poor, but this causes everything else to get more expensive, and the people who are above minimum raise who do not get anything more are now subject to higher priced goods. This causes alot of issues in the middle class. So while i agree, the 5% unemployment is nothing big right now, it will grow further as things become more expensive to make here in the USA, and the stock holders become more rich and middle classes becomes more poor. With Fuel, there is no excuse for the cost, they have the ability to make more fuel, however they choose not to, causing the demand to be bidded on at a higher rate, thus the cost of fuel. There is also the ability to make Synthetic fuels, biodiesel, and synthetic, or neuigas, which is a synthetic gasoline made from coal.. this would drive the cost of fuel down produce jobs in manufacturing and make the economy grow... Will it happen? No, why, well if you were a big wig oil producer why would you start to use synthetics? this would cause you to make less money, and cause you to have more overhead from having to higher more people... Lets face it, the less jobs, the less spending... The less spending the worse the economy does.. There is no doubt we are heading for a serious struggle as an economy..
