Guernica / Nomads

Interesting images. I almost didn't link this because I wonder at the artists truthfulness. He fails to insert a very important word here - illegal - before the word immigrant. There has been NO attempt to limit legal immigration, and the fact that this artist denies that truth makes his work, well, it puts a tarnish on an otherwise excellent project.

Honesty is important in art and especially reportage.

Nonetheless... the images present a stark, and documentary view of the newest immigrants to Mexico. The onboard flash and classic presentation make a very candid, yet traditional presentation.
Guernica / Nomads:

"One hundred years after Lewis W. Hine started work on his Ellis Island portraits, I sought to document Latin American immigrants, hoping to give faces to the catch-all masses lambasted by Lou Dobbs, Pat Buchanan, and others who equate immigration with crime. This collection of portraits of Central American immigrants was taken at the Belen Posada del Migrante, a shelter in the northern Mexican city of Saltillo."
