There are enough links and abundant information to make any noobie a neophyte quickly. If, on the other hand, your designer sold you on a "really cool Flash site", don't bother.

BTW... to the guys at SmashingMagazine: Stellar job! It is definitely one of my favorite sites, and one of the best on the web.
